Herbal Tea
Herbs : Peppermint Tea
Peppermint tea is a nice change from the fruity/flowery herbal teas that
are so frequently available. The most common and well known health benefit
from peppermint tea is to sooth an upset stomach. It's the menthol in
the peppermint leaves that does this. The zippy flavour makes this a great
tea to have as a pick-me-up.
Records from ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt show peppermint used for
medicinal purposes.
To make tea with loose peppermint, just add a teaspoon to a cup of hot
water. Peppermint tea is easily found in tea bag form too. This is an
easy herb to grow at home, either in a garden or on a windowsill. Fresh
leaves are even better than dried.
